Tyler Detrick

Pastor Tyler Detrick has served as the pastor of Light of the Nations since November, 2020.

Born and raised in Springfield, Ohio, he was baptized in the Lutheran Church as a child and taught the beauty of the Christian faith. It was during these early years that Tyler came to know Christ as his only hope in life and in death. Tyler also developed a deep desire to know and teach God’s Word. God nurtured this desire in Tyler. During his high school education, Tyler encountered challenges to his faith which increased his love for those who do not know Jesus, sharpened his convictions, and directed him to a reformed understanding of the Christian faith.

From 2012-2015, Tyler attended Cedarville University where he graduated with a B.A. in English and minored in New Testament Greek and Bible. More importantly, he met his wife Natalie, and the two were married in April 2016. From there, the Detricks moved to Philadelphia, PA where Tyler completed his M.Div program at Westminster Seminary. During a 2020 church planting internship in downtown Dayton, Tyler developed a deep desire to see God’s Kingdom advance powerfully downtown. Later that year he was called to be this church’s pastor.

Today, Pastor Tyler lives in Huffman Historic neighborhood with his wife Natalie and their two sons as they together seek to see the gospel make a difference in Dayton. The Detricks would love to get to know you and hear your story!
