Clothing Swap!

The ladies of Redeemer would like to formally invite the ladies of LOTN to participate in our clothing & book swap this spring!

It will be held at Redeemer on April 12. The hours are 10 am to 2 pm. However, volunteers should plan on being there from about 9 to 3.

This year, we are expanding our efforts to include other things besides clothes. We will be asking the congregation to donate their surplus of the following items:

– Clothing in all sizes

– Books and curriculum for classrooms and homeschools

– Small appliances such as coffee makers and toasters

– Gently used toys

– Shoes of all kinds and sizes

All items are free for “shoppers” in our congregations. All families are invited to show up and fill a box or bag (or three!) for your family.

Excess items at the end of the day will be donated to:

– Hope Rising (maternity and nursing clothes, children’s clothes up to 5T, gently used toys and baby items)

– The Dayton Gospel Mission (athletic shoes, small appliances)

– Second Harvest (All clothes not going to Hope Rising)

Books will either be sold after the fact to support the Redeemer Library fund, or they can be reclaimed by the original owners.

We are looking for volunteers! It is always a wonderful time of fellowship while we work alongside each other. Here is a general list of what the volunteers will be doing:

– Help watch small children while the mothers are “shopping.”

– Pick up donuts/ make coffee

– Set up/ tear down tables and chairs

– Lots and lots of folding clothes all day – it is non stop.

– Make signs to put on the tables (“Boys clothes size 2T,” etc.)

– Select mother’s and children’s items in good repair to give to Hope Rising

– Drive to Hope Rising, the Dayton Gospel Mission, and Second Harvest to drop off our donations. (Possibly 1 vehicle will go to each place full of bags/ boxes, depending on how much is unclaimed.)
